Personality:

Shirou Emiya suffers from immense survivor's guilt because he managed to live through the great catastrophe of the Fuyuki fires. He strived to become like his father Kiritsugu because he believed that man was a true hero. Once upon a time he thought that becoming a hero of justice was the only way to atone for the guilt he bears. He lacks a proper sense of self and comes off to others as being too serious and earnest. So everyday he worked to make the world a better place even at the cost of his very being. Eventually, he realized that there was something much more important than being a hero of justice. Protecting the ones he loves mattered to him more than anything else in the world. Shirou’s biggest wish in Heaven’s Feel is to save Sakura from her fate and self-destruction. He’s loyal and faithful towards Sakura to the point where he’d do just about anything to save her. In the past there were times Shirou put his own life at risk for Sakura.  Shirou constantly challenges his own limits and forsakes himself all for Sakura.  His body slowly deteriorates and even knowing this he’d still walk in that state if it meant that he would save Sakura. She means so much to Shirou because she’s been with him for a few years and he realizes that she’s irreplaceable.

Most of Shirou's struggles come from within himself and that fact is true for his magecraft as well. Shirou doesn't really consider himself to be a good person by any means. At some point Shirou outright tells Illya that he's done some bad things in his life. He doesn't think that someone who can betray themselves can be considered a decent individual. Shirou still continuously wishes to have a peaceful future despite the initial hypocrisy his actions invoke. He once promised Sakura to see the flowers in spring even knowing it might never happen. He's not someone who's willing to give up just because things seem difficult. One of Shirou's strong qualities is his determination. He's able to continue on in life despite choosing the most difficult path because he has a strong will. The biggest example of this was when he was trying to attempt an impossible high jump for hours. Shirou stubbornly thinks that he can reach his goals if he tries. He insists on going forward and never retreats for any reason. His strength is further demonstrated when he keeps on fighting in the Holy Grail War even after he loses his servant, Saber. After their battle she tells Shirou that he's been strong all along so even she recognizes his strength.

Something that Shirou fears more than his own death is forgetting the promise he made to his friends. He's scared of losing his sanity along with the vow he made to protect both Sakura and Illya.  Unfortunately, Shirou does have the tendency to push himself too hard. Everyone repeatedly has to tell Shirou to rest and it never sinks in for him. Such reckless actions are normal for Shirou's daily life. He's hard-headed and stubborn on top of being difficult to reason with once he sets his mind on something. It doesn't even need to be said that Shirou's recklessness and habits cause him to get killed in some situations. His dauntless behavior is very apparent when he decides to cast projection magecraft that ends up damaging his own body. Defying his own limitations is something that he consistently seeks to achieve. An important thing to note about Shirou is that he knows how to make his actions count. It's not really easy for Shirou to do drastic things when everything's on the line. In spite of this, he understands what his role is during the most crucial moment. He's able to think on his feat and accomplish things that surpass his limits by taking dangerous risks.  This aspect of Shirou makes him fitting for a Master of the Holy Grail War even without having lots of experience.

When you get down to it Shirou’s someone who wears his heart on his sleeve. It's easy to tell what he's feeling at any given moment because of how he earnestly shows his expressions to other people. Shirou would often get scolded whenever he tries to lie. Sakura could tell that something was wrong with Shirou even though he tried his best to hide the fact he was upset. Another time Shirou told Illya he was fine when he was actually distraught with fear and confusion. Of course, he fools no one with his stories. At the end of the day Shirou can’t hide his emotions very well even from himself. Lying is one of his worst skills. He couldn't tell a good lie even if it meant that it would save his life.

By the end of Heaven's Feel Shirou changes both physically and mentally. He had given up his dream of being a superhero and grew up into someone who could protect his friends.  Even though Shirou experiences many changes during the events of Heaven's Feel he arrives at his own conclusion. He ultimately decides that none of his decisions were wrong and that he made the right choice to abandon his ideals. All he wishes for is a world where he can live peacefully with the people he loves.

Abilities & Inventory:

Shirou is a magus and that allows him to use magecraft to a certain degree of proficiency. He has some knowledge of basic combat and can wield swords with skill. In the Holy Grail War he is initially Saber's Master.

Reinforcement: Allows him to make an object more durable. He can use it to improve the physical capabilities of his own body such as his eyesight allowing him to see as far as four kilometers away.

Tracing and Projecting:  One of Shirou's abilities is creating blades with projection magecraft. The fundamental basics of his power is putting shape to his mind. If he understands the basic item structure then he can recreate it using mana. However, if he rushes the process they won't be durable and will dissipate almost immediately. Blades created from projection and tracing typically don't last too long. Tracing usually puts strain on his magic circuits and he ends up overworking his brain. If he pushes this ability too much he'll destroy his mind along with his body.

Structural Grasp Magecraft: This ability is actually useless to magus but Shirou can visually grasp the inner workings of an object to an extent. He can discover more facts about an item as long as he's able to perceive it. Shirou would be able to tell what an items basic composition, material, and other features such as measurements.

Rin's pendant: A red jewel containing a small amount of mana stored inside. It holds more sentimental value and meaning to Shirou on a personal level.

Archery: Shirou is skilled with archery techniques and he has better eyesight than most people. He never misses his targets unless he intends to miss them. His skill is a trained technique and he has a natural talent for marksmanship.

Archer's Arm:
His arm once belonged to the heroic spirit EMIYA. Within the arm there's forbidden knowledge from another time and realm that surpass mortal understanding. The forbidden knowledge must be suppressed with the Shroud of Martin. Without the shroud Shirou's mind would break from the overflow of information. He must remove the seal if he's to use any projection magecraft.

Suitability & Plans:

Shirou is a character who's quite capable of adapting to many situations. He's a magus and he's used to experiencing different kinds of danger. He wouldn't shy away from nightmares and be ready to confront them when necessary. He spends the entirety of his canon dealing with a shadow that seemingly devours everything. That might be similar in nature to the Noctaere found in the game.

On a social level he's friendly and fairly easy to get along with for the most part. He's kind, earnest, and willing to help others within reason. Shirou values hard work so he'd be pulling his weight around Reverein by participating in quests and team assignments.

Fate/ series tackles themes such as multi-universe and alternate-universe. Shirou would easily be able to accept abnormalities and stranger events because they occur in his day to day life.

I would also just like a character who can clean and can cook more things than just spice.
